As part of my role at WorkCast, I was responsible for designing and developing a set of three custom webinar templates to modernise our offerings, meet client-specific requirements, and improve audience engagement across live, simulive, and on-demand events. Each template had its own purpose and target audience, contributing to the flexibility and professionalism of WorkCast’s platform.
1. Forwards
The first major new template in years, Forwards was created in just two days to support the renewal of one of WorkCast’s largest client contracts. The client needed customisable event-level elements, which existing templates couldn’t support. I designed and developed Forwards with a modern, forward-looking layout that allowed for on-demand branding flexibility, helping to retain a high-value client and set a new internal design standard.

2. Twilight
Based on WorkCast’s most popular webinar library layout, Twilight was designed to enhance speaker visibility without extra navigation. It featured clean sections for speaker bios, overview, attachments, and Q&A, all clearly accessible on one screen. The design leveraged prominent brand colours and improved readability for a smoother user experience.

3. Evolve
Evolve was created to introduce a fresh, dynamic template to the platform, incorporating subtle motion and modern aesthetics. It quickly became the most popular template due to its engaging design and forward-thinking layout. Evolve demonstrated the potential of motion and interaction within webinar experiences, helping WorkCast push its product offering forward.

All three templates were designed in Adobe XD and developed using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, fully integrated within the WorkCast backend system. Each template was built to be flexible and maintainable, with editable sections that allowed account managers and clients to easily customise content per event without requiring code changes.
The project came with a number of challenges: tight turnaround times, backend limitations, and a need to balance client expectations with internal stakeholder resistance. Many stakeholders were attached to legacy templates and hesitant about change, while clients, sales, and onboarding teams pushed for more modern, flexible designs. I addressed this by delivering quick, high-quality prototypes and demonstrating how each new template could drive engagement, ease of use, and future scalability, all within the constraints of the WorkCast platform.
The new templates had a significant impact across the business. They contributed to client retention, opened doors to new clients, and became some of the most-used templates on the platform. Internally, they received positive feedback from sales, onboarding, and support teams for their clarity, flexibility, and modern aesthetic. Most importantly, they demonstrated how fresh design thinking could unlock new possibilities even within the limitations of an outdated backend system, paving the way for future template innovation.
